Four Event Designers to Follow on Instagram
Instagram was made for event designers. Their days are filled with myriad visual choices and their nights with events that reflect the results. Even their travels – whether to exotic destinations or simply a walk to the office — yield inspiring Instagram imagery. Whether they are #Nofilter or finished off with #earlybird or #toaster, these Instagram feeds are packed with bursts of color, imagination and creativity. Here are just four you should be following for continuous event inspiration.
It’s all #instagood!
A painter by training, the President and Creative Director of David Stark Design in New York sees life through the eyes of an artist. His images on Instagram are a document of that which is truly beautiful and that which is made beautiful through his study of it. Followers may be treated to a bucolic Napa trip one week, and a visit to a hidden treasure such as the neon graveyard in Las Vegas the next.
This Instagram feed captures the beauty and emotion of LA-based Images by Lighting. The lighting design team at Images are top pros and the venues are always stunning. They “get” lighting, and you, the viewer, will get a front row seat to the many stunning weddings and events upon which their light shines.
Caution! Following the feed of Caravents, an event and production firm based in Beverly Hills, could result in a sugar rush. The images are a candy jar of sweet images, many of the shots deconstructed images of items such as a salad or the contents of a makeup bag. Often, they are related to an event and many are done on a white background, reflecting a sense of wit and whimsy.
The tagline for designer Jes Gordon’s bi-coastal production is “Proper Fun” and that it is, as is she. Images of Gordon’s fun-work-friends-filled days feel like what it’s like in the day in the life of a designer. And of course, that day wouldn’t be complete without an image or two of her dog, Ruckus, who always steals the show. In fact, I predict that Ruckus may soon have his own Instagram feed!
