Event Profile: Muse
At Muse, the Monday Night Party at the 2014 Event Solutions Conference & Tradeshow, attendees were introduced to hundreds of creative new ideas to enhance their catering and event offerings. Inspired by the nine daughters of Zeus, the brilliant minds of Cade Nagy and Dan Smith of Catering by Design joined forces with Rob Barber and Nate Scheffler of Atomic to bring nine different Parisian street scenes together into one exciting event. Here is your look behind the curtains of this magical night.
Upon entering the event, attendees found themselves wandering through a beautiful floral market where they were invited to create their own fresh salad and relax in a garden of fresh flowers provided by Flora Couture and Las Vegas Floral & Plants.
Attendees satisfied their cravings inside the “Choux” shop with an assortment of savory and sweet choux desserts. Decorated with dozens of red high heels and elaborate candelabras, guests couldn’t resist a picture opportunity with the resident choux queen!
Unique signature cocktails by Absolut and Perfect Purée included Beehive – a honey infused mojito; French Braid – a passionfruit, pomegranate blood orange braid; The Seahorse – a watermelon basil limeade; and Shag – a vanilla, thai black pepper sour.
Entertainers were hard at work turning the cranks for a spinning buffet carrying hearty Sam Adams Irish braised chicken wings and potatoes.
Trash cans and car tires decorated the scene of this back alley where the street food-style dishes were displayed in mini trash cans and metal pots.
La Pouche Chaude
This cool restaurant-style station allowed attendees to choose between a select variety of hot pockets. Hanging edison lights and rustic wood décor created a small town, farm-grown environment.
Table to Farm
Playing on the farm to table trend, appetizers were neatly displayed inside three wooden farm animals: a cow, a chicken and a pig. Later in the evening, the menu was twisted and tasty desserts were displayed, including multiple milkshakes, chocolate bacon crumble, frozen egg custard and brown sugar streusel.
Duck & Bao
Traditional French dishes Ratatouille and duck were spiced up with some Asian flair for an enticing fusion of flavors with clean, white displays that represented a modern side of Parisian cuisine.
Fondue or Fondant
Vertical marquee signs and string lights with hanging tulips were eye-catching from across the room, but, despite expectations, this was not your typical dessert station. The whimsical décor and candy-covered popcorn teased attendees throughout the night, but the dishes that were introduced included a decadent chicken apple fennel sausage with gruyere fundido and a butter pistachio pound cake with red wine caramel fondant.
Roaming entertainers and performances by DJ Gustavo and International Chanteuse Morganne Picard kept the party alive throughout the night as attendees wandered the scenes taking in all the creative dishes, inspiring décor and wild ideas. Attendees even got to take home souvenirs from The Original Butt Sketch and Cigar Row to enjoy after the event, continuing to add excitement to the night’s memorable moments!
