In the Spotlight: 2014 Event Site of the Year
For the second year in a row, 1111 Lincoln Road stole the show for the 2014 Event Site of the Year Spotlight Award!
This venue is a reconstituted parking garage turned into a haven for event planners in the Miami, FL area. The architectural marvel features multi-layered floors that range from one to two stories in height for each. The design team comprised of Herzog & de Meuron, Raymond Jungles, Wolff Olins, Neutral and Iwan Bann really outdid themselves with this work of art/office building.
Architects Herzog and Pierre de Meuron have been working together for 30 years and have created such masterpieces as the “Bird’s Nest” Olympic Stadium in Beijing, China, the Tate Modern in London, England and Prada’s flagship store in Tokyo, Japan to name a few. Now, the pair is working with Charles Benson Associates on 1111 Lincoln Road.
The building rises to 125 feet with a 5,200 square-foot penthouse at the top. At the base, you can find retail space and, higher up, there is room for a dance floor or corporate office space, depending on the season.
There is also a rooftop restaurant that gives guests a different perspective on the Atlantic Ocean and the city itself.
1111 Lincoln Road was used as the “Ultimate Man Cave” during Tech Company’s event. The space was also utilized to provide International Sports Brand the opportunity to showcase the launch of their limited edition athletic shoes.
This event site is different from other venues in that it gives event planners a blank canvas to work with. The open air and vast space allows coordinators a chance to design the building the way they would like it to look to meet their clients’ needs.
