In the Spotlight: 2014 Event Planner of the Year
We are proud to announce the winner of the 2014 Spotlight Awards Event Planner of the Year: Kristin Banta of Kristin Banta Events!
Kristin thinks outside the box. Her events play out like something out of a Broadway show, complete with interactive stage direction that reels in guests as part of the performance.
For one wedding ceremony, she invited a stilt walker, a shirtless angel and a man sporting a demonic costume to fulfill her clients’ wishes of having a Heaven & Hell theme for their wedding. Guests were separated into two sections, one lavish with dark tulle and amaranths and the other decorated with harps and other gold accents. Let’s just say the families of the bride and groom will likely not forget the night anytime soon.
Where does she get her ideas? For this particular event, she drew on folklore from Dante, Tolkien and The Odyssey.
For another wedding, she tastefully arranged décor such as metal clocks and a beautiful floral display to reflect the interweaving of masculine and feminine accents as the couple joined as one in matrimony.
Kristin graduated from Pepperdine University in 1994 and started her own business, Kristin Banta Events, in 2000. In 2013, she became the co-creator and star of BRAVO’s “The Wedding Party”.
Since then, she has been featured in TV shows like “Millionaire Matchmaker” and “Cupcake Wars”. She also served as the weekly wedding expert for the Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family”.
Banta is embedded in the event planning community where she keeps a blog and stays on top of social media in order to share advice with other event planners.
Congratulations to Kristin Banta for winning the Event Planner of the Year Award in 2014!
